Will "Curated By Cadillac" Make Cadillac Great Again?

Because standard six-figure electric Escalades are simply too proletarian for the country club, Cadillac has decided to join the hyper-personalized luxury racket.

If you’ve been losing hair worrying that your brand-new, six-ton Escalade IQ looks slightly too similar to the one parked three slips down at the marina, General Motors has a solution for your excruciating vanity. Enter "Curated by Cadillac," a bespoke customization scheme designed to siphon an extra $54,995 directly out of your bank account before you even touch an options sheet.

Taking inspiration from programs like Rolls-Royce Bespoke, Porsche’s Sonderwunsch, BMW Individual, and Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur, Cadillac is promising to turn its massive EV into a canvas for your personal taste. Buyers get access to over 160 exterior paint colors—available in gloss, metallic, tri-coat, and matte—alongside 44 interior upholstery shades.

Naturally, this color-matching extends all the way down to the floor mats, meaning you could order a carpet tint that perfectly matches your favorite shade of artisanal matcha or seats the same shade as a Château Pétrus merlot. To prevent buyers from accidentally crafting an aesthetic tragedy, Cadillac is assigning each customer a dedicated "design concierge."

Rather than rolling off a standard assembly line alongside garden-variety fleet vehicles, these "curated" EVs will be hand-painted and finished at GM's Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan—the very same facility where staff painstakingly build the $400,000 Celestiq. Each unit receives a unique VIN and a serialized builder's plate.

Dipping a toe into high-margin bespoke tailoring is a classic play for a brand desperate to convince the world it belongs in the true ultra-luxury tier. Whether wealthy buyers actually want to spend nearly $200,000 on an electric Cadillac SUV remains to be seen, but GM is more than happy to take the check if they do.
